Review of Environmental Factors – transmission line
As part of the Clarence Correctional Centre project, the NSW Government supplied an approximately 13-kilometre-long high voltage transmission line to connect the new facility to the existing high voltage power supply in the area.
The transmission line was assessed through a Review of Environmental Factors (REF), under Part 5 of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. The REF outlines details of the transmission line, assesses potential impacts, and provides measures for how these impacts will be managed during construction and operation.
Since initial approval in April 2019, the final REF has been amended to include work hours from Monday to Sunday, 7am – 6pm. The amended REF documents are available below.
Construction is now complete.
